Tennessee Whiskey is made from a Minimum of 51% Corn
Meticulously brewed in sour mash like Bourbon, Tennessee Whiskey must contain 51% or more corn. The distinct process of Tennessee is the Lincoln County Process where the White Dog (Colourless spirit) passes through sugar maple charcoal. It is manufactured using Copper Stills.
Distilled at 160 Proof (80% ABV) and Barrelled at 125 proof (62.5% ABV), the whiskey from Tennessee is always produced in new charred oak barrels to add mouth-warming flavour to the feather-light sweetness of the brew. It is filtered through maple charcoal and bottled at 40% or above of ABV.
Tennessee Whiskey Flavour Profiles
A fruity-fermented libation born and brewed in America, Tennessee Whiskey is a light nose spirit with a clean overall dryness. Notable flavours seen in Tennessee Whiskey are Apple, Wood, Honey, Malt, Maple Syrup, Caramel, and Liquorice. It is aged for two years, similar to straight Bourbon.

According to House and Senate Agreement, Tennessee Whiskey is a spirit product of the State of Tennessee. Hence, selected American Whiskeys made in Tennessee alone are called Tennessee Whiskey. There are only two prominent distilleries for Tennessee Whiskey. Jack Daniels has four kinds of Tennessee spirits (Green, Black, Gentleman Jack and Single Barrel) while George Dickel produces three (Barrel, #8 and #12).
