Tasting and Review by Daniel & Rex in the Whisk(e)y Vault
Founded by Helen Cumming in 1811 as a licensed distillery and licensed in 1824, Cardhu is the first distillery to be officially created by a woman. In fact, two women: in 1872, Elizabeth Cummings, daughter-in-law of the founders, takes the direction of the distillery and refines the flavor and character of the whiskey we know today – effortless, elegant and generous spirit, born of hard work and determination.
