Description
“70cl / 47.5% – You’d think the most impressive thing about the classic Old Forester brand’s most recent release, Old Forester Statesman, was that it won the Master Award (the highest accolade) at the Spirits Business American Whiskey Masters 2017. You’d be wrong. Created as a tie-in with, ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’, Old Forester Statesman defies all expectations of what has come to be presumed from movie tie-ins, presenting a balanced, distinguished, and delicious bourbon. Old Forester may have to consider measures to keep it on the market longer, and that’s the truly impressive thing about Old Forester Statesman. Bond is welcome to his shaken martinis.”
To coincide with the release of the Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Old Forester has released a limited edition expression, Old Forester Statesman.
Aromas of dark chocolate, vanilla and oak spice, followed by flavours of smooth caramel, cinnamon, and orange citrus. A long, rich orange spice and eucalyptus finish.
This whisky is sourced from hand-selected barrels matured in the warmest temperature locations of the Old Forester warehouse, creating a complex bourbon with a rich and deep flavour profile.
Only those intense barrels were selected for the small batches (under 100 barrels) and the blend is as minimally filtered as possible to retain the rich, bold flavours.
At a higher proof than the regular Old Forester (47.5% v 43% abv), this additional alcohol brings more flavour and complexity to the whisky.
Old Forester Statesman won the Master Award (the highest accolade) at the Spirits Business American Whiskey Masters 2017.
Old Forester is the only bourbon that has been made by the same family company pre, post and during Prohibition, making it the natural choice for a film that required a brand steeped in history.
